Join Our Classes: Chessington Junior Chess
We run regular classes designed specifically to help young players grow. Our sessions focus on more than just winning; they build focus, patience, and strategic thinking. From opening theories to tricky endgames, our classes provide a structured way for kids to improve while making friends in the local community.
What Parents Need to Know
We aim to make tournament days enjoyable and straightforward for every family:
• Equipment Provided: In the UK junior circuit, you do not need to bring your own chess sets or scoreboards. Everything required for play is provided at the venue.
• Community Spirit: While we handle the heavy lifting, we won't stop any parents who want to lend a hand! If you’d like to help with setting up or packing down the boards, your assistance is always welcome.
• Fuel for the Brain: While we provide tea and coffee for adults, players are encouraged to bring a packed lunch, snacks, or a drink to keep their energy up between rounds.
• Take a Break: Chess is mentally taxing! We highly suggest that children take a proper break from the board between games. Whether they want to read a book or take a walk in the beautiful gardens at Fircroft, stepping away helps them reset for the next round.
